FAQs

What are your design credentials?

The company founder Tanya attended Grays School of Art and has a BA (Hons) degree in Textiles and Surface Decoration. She has worked as a freelance textile designer and as an artist educator in galleries. She has also exhibited her paintings in galleries. Tanya has a Masters degree in Fine Art Theory and Practice (Painting Pathway) from Winchester School of Art.

What is your design process?

The art and design process takes place in a studio and products are developed from original sketchbook ideas. Fabric deisigns start with a drawing or painting which is converted into a final digital proof, and is used for manufacture.

How do you manufacture responsibly?

It is important to work responsibly. Our makers work in safe environments, and receive fair wages. We achieve this by sourcing from UK manufacturers in Britain and by making items ourselves.

Our double oven gloves meet national safety standards for domestic use (BS 6526: 1998).

Our cushions and door dogs have removable covers so they can
be kept clean.

We make our cushion pads with Super Microfibre stuffing material. This is machine washable and much more hygienic than most natural feather fillings, and is a vegan alternative to feathers and wool.

Our current items use natural materials such as linen, cotton, cork, and paper. These are gentler on the environment in terms of biodegradability. However, we have become aware of the extensive use of water in cotton production, as well as chemicals used for bleaching. Therefore we will be moving to cotton that conforms to the global organic textile standard (GOTS) for some of our new products.

We have already moved from screen printing to digital printing for our prints on fabric.

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) paper and card is used for product packaging and greetings cards.

We avoid generating surplus produce by commissioning short manufacturing runs. These are made in the UK to ensure fair working conditions. We have been proud members of the Made in Britain organisation since the beginning of our journey.

What is your average turn around time?

We aim to dispatch goods within 3 working days of receiving an order. See our shipping page for more details.

What if I don’t like something I’ve bought?

We hope you love our products as much as we do, but if you decide to return an item we’ll provide a full refund unless you have used it already. Please provide your order number or receipt and original packaging.

Are your items good value for money?

Our products are manufactured for the mid to high end market. They are made locally and conform to British standards of safety in the workplace and fair wages. We commission shorter production runs (bigger orders cost less per piece) so we don’t end up with lots of extra products we can’t sell (dead stock). Instead, we spend time making sure our products are the best they can be so that you will want to take care of them and use them up.

Do you provide a gift wrapping service?

We think our items are pretty special, and you may want to purchase something as a treat.  We can gift wrap and attach a blank label for you to fill out as you wish.
